Dot NAME Domains

Started in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain name extension is the single TLD intended for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other titles people are famous by. At first, just 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to book john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought third-level domains remained running.

You will have the opportunity to correct the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. There are no special restrictions on who can get a .NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the objective behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
